About Eric

My name is Eric Sink.

I live "out in the country" near Champaign, Illinois.

The rest of my family includes my wife, two daughters, two cats and a dog.

Software

I work as a software developer at SourceGear.  If you are interested in my software background, see my blog.  (However, please note that Sawdust is my hobby project and has nothing to do with my day job.)

Woodworking

My woodshop is in a pole barn behind our house.  I don't get out there as much as I would like, but I've made some pieces of furniture of which I am quite fond.

I have never done any woodworking projects for money.  I am strictly an amateur. 

My shop contains a bunch of tools with motors, including a Unisaw, a jointer and a planer.  My shop also contains some nice chisels and handplanes.  I guess I'm a "Norm with Neander tendencies".

Mostly I make furniture.  And some pens on the lathe.  I'm planning to try making some small boxes.  When I get more time and courage, I plan to try building an acoustic guitar.
